Christmas Profitability
The Shelving Solutions three step programme to Christmas profitability… that works all year roundHow do you plan for Christmas? Rather than spend even more money every year on ad-hoc initiatives, Shelving Solutions believes a more consistent, year-round approach is a more effective way to ensure your store is in good shape, not just at Christmas but all year round. By following our “Three Step Approach to Christmas Profitability” you’ll build a solid but flexible retail business that needs only minor – if any - enhancements to maximise Christmas sales.
Need help identifying, building and creating new ‘strengths’ within your retail offering? We’ve devised a three step approach to help you build a continually evolving foundation that can be quickly and cost-effectively enhanced to maximise sales potential at Christmas or any other season.
STEP 1: Play to Your Strengths Playing to your strengths is about making easy, last-minute enhancements that will improve festive sales. Research shows that customers are now more prepared to shop locally for gifts. Our Mobile Impulse Shelving systems are the ideal way to display all sorts of giftware, as well as that all-important impulse-buy favourite, confectionery. Available in a range of sizes and colours, these lightweight yet strong units will allow you to position impulse and seasonal products anywhere in the store.

STEP 2: Build On Your Strengths
The aim is to do more with products and services that are already bringing customers into the store.
Take the basics such as fresh fruit and vegetables and bakery goods. Our purpose-built bakery shelving and extensive display units for fresh fruit and vegetables are helping One Stop Stores secure a greater share of shopping spend at its new ‘concept’ store in Takeley, Essex.
STEP 3: Develop New Strengths
Adding new services that make customers lives easier – and therefore encourage them to visit your store - should be high on any retailer’s planning agenda.
During 2013, a new concept in post office retail counters, the Post Office Local, proved an immediate success when One Stop Stores began the process of rolling out the service to 35 of its stores. The Post Office Local service should attract even more customers into the stores as we get closer to last posting dates for Christmas.
The Post Office Local is delivered via a modular counter, designed by Shelving Solutions, which can be further adapted to provide Paypoint, mobile phone top-up and other services.
